One of the scariest decisions I have ever made was to become an entrepreneur in partnership with my wife. In November 2002 we took on the challenge of starting a small renovating business in the footsteps of a former boss. I had been working for a guy who helped teach me through my early stages of carpentry, before having the opportunity to work with this small local company I had worked in the industry for a large builder. When I was in high school I was struggling to make it through, that is when I knew I had to work hard to survive. I started building around the age of 16, I found that putting in 12 to 14 hour days helped me build my skills and pay my bills. With my determination and a small family at that time I figured out very quickly that hard work paid off. I had been driving over two hours a day to and from work. On a few different occasions I would run into this reputable guy who ran his small contracting business just a block away from where I lived. He offered me a job and after much thought we decided that it would be a chance to have more time at home with my family and continue working in the construction business. A short time later my new boss had found an opportunity for his family to move on and build his dream in the North. With the offer of taking over his clients and being able to make the dream of owning my own business come true we began this journey as a family. It has been scary and full-filling at the same time. Our family has made many sacrifices to build this business to date. At the moment we have two employee's. Craig Stubbs who has been with us since September 2009. A few of our favorite character traits in Craig, are, his hard work ethic, his loyalty and reliability. In January of 2020 our son Tyson moved back home and began working with us. Tyson graduated in June of 2018 from Georgian College with honors in Carpentry technology. Tyson worked in Barrie from the time of his graduation until December 2019. Tyson has a strong passion to build and renovate. He is not afraid to ask questions. We are impressed with Tyson's determination, drive and talent both as parents and as owners in this industry. We would not be here today if it wasn't for our employee's whom are both very hard working and reliable, the suppliers we started with that many years ago who believed in us, and had patience when things were tight. Our success has been made from the dedication of our employee's, the loyalty of our returning clients, and the trust of new ones. We are most thankful for everyone who helped us be nearly 20 years in this industry of renovating.
